Greg Torres
I founded GTX Finance in 2016 after working as an accounting & finance leader at venture backed startups since 2009. The concept for GTX is rooted in two observations from that experience:
1) In my early days at each role, I noticed a lot of easy wins with respect to processes & planning that could have been addressed earlier (when the Company was smaller) in order to avoid significant headache and operational debt.
2) Prior to hiring me, the Company may not have needed a full time resource to accomplish the goals in observation 1.
Prior to 2009, my experience includes audit & tax, obtaining a CPA license (currently inactive) and investment bank accounting. When I’m not working, I’m playing tennis, listening to records, or building spreadsheets to help me win my fantasy basketball league.
Kenneth Morretino
Ken’s contributions to GTX Finance date back to October 2018, and in August 2020 he joined full-time. Ken has been a finance professional since 2008 and holds a CPA license (currently inactive). As head of finance, Ken helped facilitate the acquisition of Zesty in 2018. After the completion of the transaction, he took 6 months away from work to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada!
The lion’s share of Ken’s resume lies in consumer electronics, making him an expert in analyzing hardware gross margin and inventory. However, Ken’s experience with GTX Finance has proven him to be a valuable asset across multiple industries including edtech, blockchain, and life sciences.
